The Bankers Association of Malawi (BAM) has partnered Sparc Systems Limited in sensitising secondary school students on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and financial services as part of their activities in observing the Global Money Week.
BAM chief executive officer Lyness Nkungula said the partnership is meant to prepare the coming generation to embrace digital services that are critical to financial inclusion.
Sparc Systems Limited programmes manager Ahmed Milanzi said it is important for the youth to be equiped with technology basics because the use of financial services in a modern world is very much linked to ICT.
Some of the youths that benefited from this awareness campaign are from Lilongwe Girls Secondary School and Tsokankanasi Community Day Secondary School in Lilongwe.
Global Money Week, is an annual global campaign with an aim to ensure that young people have financial knowledge from an early age, and are gradually acquiring the knowledge and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions.
