Sparc Systems Limited and Beit Cure Malawi have unveiled a joint campaign to raise K400 million for life-changing corrective orthopaedic surgeries for 256 children.
The children are currently on the hospital’s surgery waiting list. Speaking to MBC after announcing the partnership, Managing Director for Sparc Systems Limited, Wisely Phiri, said the company remains committed to supporting Beit Cure Malawi in conducting surgeries on children with treatable disabilities.
Phiri said while the two entities have successfully collaborated in the past, the commitment this year takes a different approach due to the fundraising target that has been attached to the drive.
He hailed Beit Cure Malawi’s remarkable expertise, which has seen thousands of underprivileged children receive life-changing surgeries through the years.
Beit Cure Malawi’s Dr Rhoda Jura Kriek said that in partnering with Sparc Systems, they are hoping to lean into the IT company’s network of private sector partners to support the cause.
The two partners have since lined up a fundraising golf tournament and dinner, which will take place in August and October, respectively.
